If there was an easy answer, you wouldn’t be here asking the question. Due to varying circumstances with each and every program, the best way to ensure that your message is seen is not a one-size-fits-all strategy. According to our internal experts, you do want to reach out to specific individuals rather than a generalized email address such as “recruiting@university.com”
The key is finding the individual most likely to respond. As one of our experts so eloquently puts it, “Find the person whose head is most likely to be on the line if your information is not eventually shown to the head recruiter or head coach.”
That is, if you send your profile to a recruiting assistant or a recruiting coordinator, and they fail to usher it along to their superiors, and then you turn out to be a catch and have a successful career, then their head is on the line. As we said, sometimes this person is in recruiting, and sometimes it’s a position coach or a quality analyst. The list goes on and on, but it’s up to you to find what works best. Once you join the SDS family, our team members will be more than happy to help you with this process. Our connections run deep, and we can put you in contact with the right people in the industry.
